On the move with one’s house –
what a choice!
Don’t know anyone who lives like this,
but it seems pretty adventurous! whatever FLOATS your boat, as they say…
In Groningen, the N. of the Netherlands where my brother lives.
(Randomosity, Tue Travel, ABC Wed.-F, Week Reflection)

Roses are still my number one choice for flowers.
When I had six colors rose bushes in my front yard, I actually wanted a white tea rose
but  the nursery did not have them  available. These were pretty cool too though,
since they bloomed profusely, and I had often white roses on my table.

Gave to myself a second blog as a Valentine’s  box of chocolates, so it’s easier to organize!
It’s called The Jesh Studio.
Click on title for the first 2 posts –  (for right now) about psychology, dreams, and art.The direction and how regular,  still has to be worked out.

Left the store’s name off, to be fair. There are two levels, and at a certain point
hubs and I choose the white star on the right. I never hope to taste it again. It was key lime.
Sometimes we have to live with our choice!
(Random: the Fun)

I would love to make this choice for a front door,
the  relief gives it character. Plus the side lights with glass one can’t see through!
(Thurs. Door)

Shall I tell?
A quirky, absolutely delightful store with owners who  take time to chat with t
heir customers (a rare thing in San Diego, Old Town
(Most of the time, people are friendly, but very hurried).

Flying clouds in February
What I love is seeing clouds move so fast. that the whole scenario is changed in a minute.

Those chocolates look yummy, always a disappointment when you choose the wrong one. With so many varieties and colours who doesn’t love roses. I planted two new ones in memory of Mum in the Autumn, am anxiously awaiting their waking up in time for Spring and a show of colour this Summer.

    I love that first shot!

  4. Living in Amsterdam along the canal is my dream! My dream home would be a canal house!

  5. riitta k says:

The canal view with boats reminds me of my trip to Amsterdam. Stunning roses! Happy Valentine’s Day ❤︎

  6. Always had a silent wish to float, living on a houseboat.. still wish it 😉

Love the houseboats! Adventure for sure! Lovely photos.

  8. That’s a cool photo of the houseboats. Your rose photo has me thinking about planting a white rose bush in the yard. The other day you asked me about the truffles I thought I’d make for today. I found an easy truffle recipe by Martha Stewart that required me heating heavy cream until it simmered, after which I poured over broken bittersweet chocolate pieces and let sit for 10 minutes. Then I whisked until smooth with vanilla and a bit of salt. It cooled for 15 minutes, then was put in the fridge to sit for 3 hours. About 40 minutes from now, I’ll go turn the mixture into balls and roll into cocoa. Can hardly wait.

To Saskia – great beginning – happy Valentine’s Day

Guess it’s too foreign for me/us to actually really try it. One thing is the tiny spaces. Two is if I could sleep when it storms – …. maybe I’m talking myself out of it now, lol!
    Have a great week, Melody!

  11. jesh stg says:

Thank you Fi! Are there people in Sweden who live on a boat?

  12. Jeanna says:

Loving the Groningen photo, very pretty and comforting. That’s funny key lime and dark chocolate sounds good to me but I’m very fussy about my chocolate and even fussier about dark chocolate. I got some jelly roses at the store for a little Valentine’s treat and they were just awful, threw them away and I never throw away candy. Yes, I love roses, any color. Do you still have rose bushes in your yard? Hope you had a good Mardi Gras and Valentine’s Day, mine were pretty busy so just getting back to you. Have a great rest of the week.

  13. Great shot of those barges, Jesh, they reminded me of how much we miss our boat, until the image of the chocolates made me think of food. Now I’m putting the kettle on. Nice door photo, too. 🙂

  14. Roger Green says:

    great reflections, in both senses.

  15. We know an English couple who own/owned (not sure if they’ve sold the boat yet) who barged on the rivers of France for quite a bit of the year. We were fortunately enough to spend a day with them a few years ago. What fun, at least for part of the time. As for the chocolates, I love dark chocolate, but not always with filling. 🙂 Depends what it is.

  16. jesh stg says:

Thank you for telling about the couple. Am curious what their experience was? Is it more inconvenient in terms of shopping, cooking, small quarters, etc.? I know ….the filling – it doesn’t need to be there for me, so when I buy chocolate for ourselves at See’s Candies (I only occasionally do) I buy truffels, so I know each one tastes the same!

  17. jesh stg says:

Thank you Jean! I wish chocolate makes me think of food. It makes me think of snacking sweets (not the healthiest!). Hope you have oomething good with your tea (I assume that’s why you put the kettle on).
Apropos, something I forgot to comment on when admiring your stained glass door: never thought of a dog having to adjust to the cold! After all, they don’t wear shoes:):)

  18. jesh stg says:

We frequently look at a TV program called Internat. house hunters. It’s insane what they charge for rent in the center area along the canal …like $4000 (rent! for a one bedroom, one bath apartment)!

  19. Peter B says:

Beautiful sky shot! I’ve often thought living on a houseboat would be very fun, but I think I might need something a little larger than the one in the photo!

  20. Tino seems to enjoy the snow for a short time and then wants to get indoors. But he’s no spring chicken at eleven years old, so I can’t blame him.

  21. Norm 2.0 says:

I love the carvings in that gorgeous door 🙂

  22. jesh stg says:

Oh my goodness, 7 man-years for each dog year, so he’s even older than we are!

  23. jesh stg says:

It doesn’t happen often, but I happen to be on the computer while our comment came it. Thank you for hosting, I really enjoyed your snowy captures, since we didn’t (and maybe will not) have snow. Are these recent ones? Hope you have full recuperated…

  24. nannie2four says:

I always enjoy visiting with you… You share such interesting fotos. I can’t really imagine the taste of chocolate with key lime center…I don’t think I’d want that again either. Happy weekend to you! 💜

  25. Mascha says:

A swimming home, that would be very nice! Speedy clouds are a great theatre, like them too.
Thanks for joining, sorry, that I’m so late ( my blog is just in a break from health reasons)Enjoy your time
