SAVOR THE DAY

Savoring one of  summer days without end
the waves not counting the Years
morfing ebb and flow
into its place in history
(ABC Wed -Y)

The beach my Dutch sis in law described as “the most beautiful” of the Southern Calif region, when I asked what she enjoyed the most of California. (Not The Huntington Library Gardens (Pasadena, or Balboa Park, San Diego or Hollywood, or the Ghetti museum, Los Angeles)

Not so much to savor when it takes 20 minutes to find a parking space
Took the first two shots through so many filters, I couldn’t tell you
which I used:) The view , at the backside of the beach, cars, cars, cars,
not very romantic, but everyone wants so spend a day close to the beach.

Eventually our longing for the view of the ocean is fulfilled
and do get to sit, eat, sip while watching the waves!
(Makro Tex: longing)

Rejuvenated, we are ready to look at orchids. In nature any color combination looks so good, like the yellow petals inside  pink orchids! Who would have thought about that, except for the Creator:)

Have you ever noticed than when you have guests from a Northern country,
they want to walk in the sun. Living in a sunny state,
you cross the street to be able to walk in the shade:)
(Thurs. Doors,  Fences ATW, Weekend Reflection)

Never tire of watching the sun disappear into the water.

Hello, lovely series of photos. I love the view of the water and the pretty flowers. I would like to live in a state that has more sunshine.
Happy Monday, enjoy your day and new week ahead!

  2. Dan Antion says:

    I only envy the sunset

  3. Jackie says:

I do love visiting California. I am more of a city gal though.

  4. Ruth says:

Which is the beach that your sister in law liked the most? I know beaches can get super crowded in summer. I think that is why we stay local if we want to go to the beach (lucky us that live in a beach city). I want to savor summer as much as possible. We will start doing that by camping this weekend close to San Diego.

  5. Angie says:

Every day is to be savored – it’s just a matter of looking for a reason, which may seem small and insignificant until you find it!!! Loved your comment about people preferring to walk in the sun or the shade – so true. We always want what we don’t have! By the way, I may not be commenting as often for the next few weeks since I will have my in-laws visiting from the UK. We are going to have a great time!

  6. jesh stg says:

What -you’ll only the sunset? What about sitting under an parasol, looking at the waves with your fave drink?

  7. jesh stg says:

We were at Corona del mar with them, but they were on their own in San Francisco. I was so surprised she said the beach, I didn’t investigate further! Around San Diego the beach must be enjoyable everywhere! Have fun and bring me some shells:)

  8. Dan Antion says:

Not a beach person but I do love watching the sunset over the water.

  9. Peabea says:

A Summer’s Day ~ sometimes they have such wishtful and melancholic moods to them that touch a person’s soul. Those days, I love the best and wish the day would not end because it is so peaceful. Your first photo post reminds me of those kind of day.

Lovely photos, the colour of parasols pleases me very much. Yes, the nature has its miracles!

  11. jesh stg says:

Oh good, am reassured! (like you need it, haha) It’s okay not to like the beach:) Hubs burns even when the sun isn’t shining!

  12. it indeed looks gorgeous and worth visiting it to see it with ones own eyes… if I ever will, will remain a question 😉

  13. Oy finding parking can take years off your life!! Gorgeous sky in the lat shot!!

  14. A very nice, personable narrative.

  15. The weather in the UK has been so hot in recent weeks that we are all looking for shade to walk in. Unheard of!

  16. Joanne Sisco says:

Having your sister visit = priceless 🙂

  17. Savor the Day. I like that view of life. Dining under red umbrellas while looking at the ocean makes hunting for parking so worthwhile. Ha! Living in California, I’m with you, always seeking the shady side of the street. 🙂

  18. Hello dear jesh,
    Lovely series of photos.
    Best regards,
    from Elke

Sister in law:) Overheard her say to my brother “They have vacation here every day!” (because of the weather) I thought that was funny (didn’t tell her, because I know it’s a Dutch view) because I have never worked so hard (which I loved, by the way) in my life as in California!

  21. Kay Davies says:

It does seem that a good time was had by all, so your walk was a success despite the parked cars.

  22. Peter B says:

Sounds like your sister-in-law is a beach lover! Glad you guys finally founds a great spot to sit and enjoy the ocean. I don’t go to the beach as much anymore because traffic and parking have gotten so crazy.

  23. Nice shots, Jesh. I especially like the first one on the pier and the one with the benches on the shady patio. On very hot days, we think about heading over to the coast. Because everyone else is, too, we don’t and wait and hope the ocean breeze will kick over the mountain ridge. Fortunately for us, most times it does unless it’s very, very hot. Your

  24. Jim says:

    Good sky shot.

  25. The water at sunrise and sunset is my favorite — we do avoid that overhead sun like the plague. Beautiful shots!

  26. prior.. says:

sometimes the shade is great – but this week I have been in the sun a lot – and like that shot of the door entrance through the branches

  27. jesh stg says:

Thank you fro visiting Yvette! In California (maybe you remember) shade is most always good:) Understand though when the sun is not often shining, the body craves for that vit. D:)

  28. prior.. says:

yes I do remember and guess what – just agot a nice dose of my vitamin d sunshine today – 🙂

  29. jesh stg says:

    Yay, good for you:)

  30. I love that last shot, Jesh. So tranquil and calm.

  31. jesh stg says:

Thank you Jean- had to make it a lot lighter to show that:) Have a great weekend!

  32. Orchids are gorgeous. But, I sure can relate to the parking. We live about 20 minutes from the beach, and this time of year you have to use an app to find a parking space. We never go near there until the day after Labor Day. 🙂

  33. jesh stg says:

I don’t blame yo Judy. When we lived in Southern Cal, we often went to the beach on a nice day in the winter months – the only time to take decent photos! Have a great weekend!

  34. jammy7000 says:

Delightful shots, Jesh! Always nice to see photos of Summer while we are shivering in th eWinter cold Downunder!
