FEATHERED PEN

THE ALL SEASONS POST IS BELOW THIS ONE!

What to write with feathered pen
when only wooden planks to sit on?
dreaming of clouds of feathers
am floating with the wind
to amazing and unknown lands
ABC Wed. -Amazing

Could it be the past
of these double doors
protecting 16th century merchants’
treasures of oversees travels ?
Me thinks so.

Oh nature’s scratches, circles, stripes
caught by my Opa (grandfather)
haha they’re really flowers

Sutro Bath is long gone
and this graffiti writing will not last either
“thank heavens,” my Nana would say
“it’ll all disappear in the water….”

Great photos – I was especially drawn to the flowers taken by your Opa. I also had an Opa who loved to take pictures – especially on his many travels; including many pics of flowers and landscapes.

  2. Dan Antion says:

I love the wall reflected in the water. The water acts as a natural filter. Beautiful image.

  3. jesh stg says:

Thank you Dan, today am taking credit for the beauty in Southern California:):) I like that big block of cement – it reminds me of a boat.

  4. jesh stg says:

Went to your blog, but I didn’t know where to comment – this Opa (my hubby, and Opa of the girl who holds the feathered pen) has travelled much too, but that’s not where he started being interested in photography, but it started here in California! Ah, Coronado beach if beautiful, but also the beach (more rough than San Diego) of Coronado del Mar, which is where we used to live only 20 min.from (in the street of South Coast Plaza) till 4 years ago we moved more to the Sacramento area.
Pleasantly surprised, it’s not every day am meeting a wordpress-er who has a Dutch background:)

Hi! I have done several blog posts about my Opa – under the grandparents category on the blog. I just realized that 3 out of the 4 posts in that category involve him (we were very close). Feel free to check them out if you want. One has a really old photo of him and his relatives. Lucky you to live in California – the beaches are so beautiful. Thanks for commenting back 🙂

  6. Dan Antion says:

With the cracks and broken bits, it looks like an old stone wall.

  7. jesh stg says:

Thank you Dan – I thought the yellor and white made a great contrast in the reflection of the dark water:)

  8. jesh stg says:

Thank you – I will look later at the posts of your Opa, when I have commented on most of the All Seasons photo links, the challenge I do from Sunday through Wednesday – you are very welcome to join – it’s for everyone! Great to have met you this way:)

  9. jesh stg says:

Yeah, it does look like a wall – these are “leftovers” from Sutro Baths in San Francisco (don’t know if I made that clear in my post)

  10. oneletterup says:

My favorite photo is the last one — of the pier. The color of the sky, the distant pier, the water. It all makes for a pleasing photo! The reflection of the remnant of the Sutro baths is so beautiful, too!
