This year will bring many changes. Some easy. Other changes need a period or strategy to get us from the old and familiar, to the new.
This brought me to look for things that function as a bridge or a connection from one place to another.A transition may also connect you from one season to another (weather wise, job wise, emotionally).
With that framework in mind, you can ACE any change, when you find the thing/tool that will bridge the gap for you. (ABC Wed. -A)
From here to there
and how to get there, is at times a conundrum
That’s why I love things that serve as a bridge
Sutro Baths (Ruin) in San Francisco was a large saltwater privately owned swimming complex built in 1896. It burned down in 1966
(The Good (R). Tue Treasures, Weekend Reflection)
Stairs, are an obvious way to bring you from
the top of the hill to the bottom by the Sutro baths
(The Random (R), Good Fences, Fri Greens)
*THURSDAY DOOR
That wire and pipe is bridging some “gaps” (Auburn, CA)
A door is opening and bringing us into a new room – a symbol of bridging the gap from looking from the outside, and gaining access to the inside.
Some of you at Thursday Doors may be happy to finally see a red door!
(Tue, Texture, Thurs. Door)
Fri Hunt: Begin with B: Bird
Weeks Favorite: Sutro Baths (1)
Creature: Bird in Yosemite Nat. Park
From bare and snow to little evidences of life. What a troopers.
Recently in a conversation with my son, we were talking about that some people look and act from the outside like they are strong and solid, but after some time, you discover they are covering up their fears and weakness by acting strong.
These snowdrops are the opposite. They look fragile, but they weather freezing conditions. I’d rather be this tiny snowdrop:)
(Nature Notes, Floral Fri Foto, Todays Flowers)
Bird: Vulture? Seen on a snowy day in Yosemite Nat. Park
(Fri Hunt, Sat. Critter)
Flat tire
(The Fun (R), Travel Tue, Travel Photo Thurs.,)
Bikes bridge the distance like cars, trains, boats, and other vehicles.
Here, in Utah on vacation, we wondered why certain roads were roped off, until we saw this scene. We found ourselves in the midst in a bicycle race. Big enough to be on the Evening news.
At last a sunset bridging day to night and from LIGHT into dark.

Loved seeing your images from Sutro Baths, and the red door.
Your insight into bridging the gap is wonderful!
What an interesting series of photos with a great link. My favourite is the first one.
Thanks Deborah! Finding associations to bridging the gap hints at the job I retired from:)
I noticed that it seemed to be easy for you to find those bridges and use your images. I’m pretty sure I wouldn’t have seen the bridges without your insight. 🙂 xx
That first image is amazing!!
All the bridges and thoughts about transitions are intriguing. I especially like that LONG stairway on the hill!
Thank you Sharon! Have you seen Sutro Baths (San Francisco) – that is where this is….
I enjoyed the optimism of finding bridges to transition us between sometimes fragile circumstances. Anything to do with bicycles and/or sunsets would catch my attention immediately as my partner and I cycle most days except when snow arrives and one of our great pleasures are sunsets.
great images…i really loved the ruins…so neat!
The first shot is fantastic! For some reason the second one is not showing up for me.
Wise words and a great theme for the beginning of Round 20!

Great series of photos. The first one reminded me of an old public pool in the ocean down the road from me.
wonderful choise for a…. we do indeed all need bridges to bring us from one point to another
Have a nice ABC-Wednesday / _ Week

Thanks for your recent visit and comment on my latest ABC Wednesday post, much appreciated. Just enjoyed a catch up here.
Nice red door 😉
Jee, Roger, after all this time, you still beat me with the ABC’s! Hope you stay around in blogging land after this round is over?
Great shots.
Hi there, I’m visiting from Friday Floral Fotos and I enjoyed your post.
Those little snowdrops are so sweet. Loved seeing the Vulture too – wow, what a wing span!
Cheers now :D)
Interesting observation about a door bridging a gap, I hadn’t thought of it like that but it’s true.
A wonderful, beautiful series of photos!
The first and second ones are very powerful images.
I also love the long stairway. This is a beautiful set of images.
In my sessions with college age people, associations worked very well in reframing what they were stumped about.
Nice door and some serious steps, Jesh. You have a lot of good photos of interesting things in this batch. Flat tires are the bane of a bike rider’s existence and, as my husband’s a cyclist, I also know that they’re expensive to replace!

Great shots!
That slatwater pool does look inviting…but those stairs to get ot it do not! Beautiful susnet shot and yes I do hope to get back to doing Seasons.
I love those shots of the Sutro baths and the idea of using bridges to help with some of the changes we will have to navigate in 2017!
My favorite photo of this series, if I had to pick, is the first image. Have a great week-end.
I would love to explore the Sutro Baths and overlook the ocean from above. It is a pity that the baths can’t be swum in today.
Nice captures! Hope you are able to make all the changes you have in mind. I have never been to the Sutro Baths in San Francisco. I dream about returning to the city every time I see pictures like yours. #TPThursday
a little of everything here. Thanks for visiting my blog. It was no easy to find you today. But I did. 🙂
Gorgeous sunset! Thanks so much for sharing at OBW!!
Great post, I love the top photo! It reminded me of my first trip to San Fransisco when I was ten years old. We went to a restaurant called The Cliff House near the Sutro Baths. I wonder if it’s still there.
Hello, love the vutlure shot. Wonderful selection of photos for the memes. Thank you for linking up and sharing your post. Enjoy your day and weekend!
Love the snowdrops — and your thoughts — actually love all your pictures and all your thoughts! That is definitely a vulture.
I have not heard of Sutro Baths. I’ll have to check it out. And snowdrops are my favorite.
My son had been there with his friends 2 years ago, so when he visited, he wanted to go back there:) Does this mean you live in CA?
Love the red door, and I think I need to plant some snowdrops. 🙂
The red door is my favorite. Thanks for linking up to Travel Photo Thursday. #TPThursday
A delightful entry, Jesh, with some wonderful photos.
Thanks for linking with the Friday Greens meme.
Gosh you have some skill! The second one is my fav! Absolutely brilliant!
Wow, you are far away from “home” being in S. Korea! Have Korean friends, but never been there yet! You have a great blog!
Went to your blog to read your post about Mudgee. A great post! live in the mountains in an area with many vineyards. It gives a special atmosphere! How does an Estonian girl end up in Australia? You really must like travelling being so far away from home!
Beautiful photos and a lovely post. I enjoyed it very much!! I should look into planting snowdrops in my garden.
Thank you so much for linking up on Wandering Camera!
