DECEMBER (17) IS TAKING SHAPE

ONE WHOLE WEEK to buy or make presents (for the stragglers among us). I am DONE (yay). The only thing left is wrapping them:)

Shape is an endless subject, for there is no object without shape. Even the clouds have shapes (look at  my sky scape and tell me what you see!)
Here are some favorite shapes.

NOTE: ALL SEASONS- post of this week is below this one!

The shape, textures and colors of these rocks on our climb in Big Bear Lake (California) were so interesting that  I took a shot and made a watercolor (look at the post of ALL SEASONS this week), and was chosen to be in a large show of about I25 artists in Southern California (some years ago).

Not long after my niece got married they made a trip around the world.  At the end she and her hubby came to us for a week in December. He loaded a host of pics on my computer I could use. This one is from their time in Australia. This night view with all the lights fits so much in this time of year.

Balboa Park in San Diego  was a continual source of inspiration. This park was named after the maritime explorer Vasco Nunez de Bablboa, and hosted the Panama-Californian Exposition in 1915. In 1977 it was declared a national historic landmark (Wikipedia).
Beautiful landscaping, musea, open air music venue, restaurants, etc. This bridge is actually almost hidden, since this garden is situated lower.

Wonderful shots, Jesh! I still haven’t managed to do my Christmas gift shopping, have been a bit unwell and too busy. From Wednesday onwards things will quieten down, I hope! Season’s Greetings to you and your family.

  2. The presents are done, I just need to get the baking started! Wishing you a safe and happy Christmas and 2018. Thank you for the link up.

Congratulations for being everything almost done; but, isn’t wrapping the most difficult one and the boring one? Ah! I don’t like wrapping. Congratulations also for being selected among 125 artists. whoop..whoop :-). Lovely photos as usual.

  7. I saw a profile of a dog his paws in front of him as if flying. Okay, yes, I saw him wearing a cape–the greyish clouds–that the wind just blew over to hide his torso. lol Those rocks are amazing. Congrats on being chosen for the art show. 🙂 Happy Holidaze to you, Jesh!

OK, so I’m in the “straggler” category. That word describes me well! Love the shot of the Big Bear boulders, and congratulations on your selection!! Funny how boulders seem to have their own unique personalities. I could tell right away these were not Joshua Tree boulders, and guessed them to be San Bernardino mountain boulders before reading your description.

Your amaryllis photo is stunning! The park reminds me a bit of Japanese garden style with that bridge. Right now reading a book of Kiyoto, that explains how I see everything 🙂

    Merry Christmas!

In the clouds, I saw a man with his mouth open, as if he is getting ready to lick an ice cream cone! I am done with shopping and wrapping – which is why I am now free to check in with all my blogging friends. Thanks for inviting me to link to All Seasons – I did for the first time today. Have a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
