ALL DUCKS IN A ROW IN SEPTEMBER

Click on the title of this post, if you don’t see the comment section!

The DUCKS is referring to all the things going on in our life. At Rosh Hashanah. the Jewish New Year, things in our life are evaluated. Love it, so that I don’t have to do this at Christmas time:)

SCROLL DOWN to see the DOORS!

This week is Rosh Hashanah, the Jewish New Year feast. A New Year is like an arch, the future beautifully framed, to go through and see what this year is all about.

These huge arches with curtains were in the open air, at the main square of Athens, Greece. It breathes history, like many other building structures  in Athens.
Hubby got into a conversation with a Greek man, so I took out my sketchbook .

A new year for new “flowers” to bloom! At first this looked like a rose, but from inspecting the leaves I knew it was a Camella!

Open doors to see and hear the band playing. Sorry, was not watching the lighting closely enough:). These doors with its frame is at least  16 feet in height, but to get it all in one image (without a panorama lens),  this is the distorted result!)

Obviously I don’t have all my ducks in a row, for I could not find something for Friday Hunt’s Key – so I cropped one of my unfinished paintings with an angel who wears  a key:)

This year we had a very long and wet winter and spring in California.  For the first time in several years this wildlife place was totally flooded until the weather got warmer.  A sigh of relief when slowly each week  this area where geese and other birds congregate came back to the surface. Some things are new when entering a new period. Other things need to continue, and be enduring.

Those arches just ooze history. Gorgeous.

  2. Happy Rosh Hashanah if you are celebrating it! The arches are lovely. On the wildlife pond that bush there in silhouette looks like a Bison to me. I love it! xx

I totally understand the “ducks in the row” figure. There are a lot of things in my mind at the moment (work, family and this new hurricane which is going to pass over Puerto Rico tonight).

  14. Jesh…Your friend from Finland said…”
I liked the coffee mill. That was my grandmother in my childhood.”

  15. I looked for your Facebook page and I can’t find it but I will try again as I do want to see your artwork…Lovely photos …I got my MAC a year ago and it was a learning curve….Michelle

Hello! I’m visiting from Riitta’s Floral Bliss linkup. A great set of photos. The pink camellia is beautiful. All the best!

  19. Leah says:

That camellia flower is just beautiful! I’ve never seen one with a lighter shade of pink! Simply stunning!

I liked the way you said the arches are to go through and see the new year. The bird house, the flower, etc., represent new life in the new year.

  23. jesh stg says:

You’re right! But when you don’t grow up with it – when my grand kids come to my house, they have to move the koffiemolen and the weegschaal (with the old-fashioned weights):)

  24. jesh stg says:

Thank you Norm. Hope after today you long to go back to your vacation spot:):)

  25. I enjoyed the entire post, Jesh. We have a coffee mill at the cabin, but I don’t know if it’s actually old or a reproduction. We don’t use it, but whether antique or not, we enjoy it. In northern Illinois it feels like mid-summer, 90+F today, much to hot for me. Ahh, well, soon enough the temperatures will drop back to a more comfortable range. We could use a bit of rain as well and I’m sure Puerto Rico and that area would have been happy to share. So much devastation!

That’s a beautiful old coffee grinder. My grandmother had quite a collection of these. I wonder what ever happened to them? Great post, and enjoy your weekend!

  27. Those arches are just perfection. Thanks for linking up today and have a great weekend.

  28. jesh stg says:

Thank you Janet! If you let a good carpenter look at it, they should be able to tell whether it’s an original or not.
I’ll be glad to give you 10-20 degrees! I changed 3 times this morning, because I refused to believe it was that cold (60ties). Luckily they say by Sunday it will warm up:)

  29. Mascha says:

Most I like the colors in the last phot. And a very nice coffeemill – in my youth I used a similiar to grind my weath grains for breakfest… but so many things I’ve lost in difficult times, could not save all my stuff – (maybe it’s a luck)
    Happy Rosh Hashanah 🙂

  30. Wonderful arches and i love the pink Camelia and that old coffee grinder looks interesting. Have a great weekend.

  31. scotiaspinner says:
