Simple straight lines in “glitzy” high rises may become stunning when nature’s colors are reflected.

Pine trees grow tall over the years, and don’t you love the large pine cones?

Flowers and plants which give us pleasure each summer.
Don’t these look like flames?

Time is a precious commodity. A beautiful dream  can be shattered when a fire rages and destroy work and years of growth! Not only people suffer, but also animals and the ecosystem. What of a chance does this tiny fly (left rose) have in a big fire?
(Makro Tex – up till 2 cm, Sat Critters))

Unfortunately I’m not stranger of seeing the devastation of a fire. In California we have fires each year. This summer at least 20 fires have been burning. One of which  in Yosemite Nat. Park., my favorite area to paint plein airs.

Lovely images. Forest fires devastate in seconds what the nature has built in hundred years. Sad.

It has been a devastating year for fires in the western half of the continent. I hope it settles down soon.

Time certainly is a precious commodity… perhaps one of the most precious of all, but most of us rarely think about it and assume we have an almost unlimited supply. Great post, and have a happy weekend!

Nice shots! I wouldn’t mind checking out Old Town Sac. someday.

It’s funny that you mentioned lasagna in your comment because the one and only time I ate at that restaurant I had lasagna. It wasn’t very good. 😦

I don’t see many skyscrapers in my part of the world. Very impressive. Love the big pine cones. Beautiful flowers. Thank you so much for joining Friday’s Hunt. Have a great week!

A truely beautiful set of photos, The mention of Yosemite took me back to 2016 when my Daughter and I visited , and there was fires burning then.
    Take care, Gordon.

Never could get enough of Yosemite! It was our vacation spot for about 18 years, where Jacob and the “kids” went hiking, and I parked on a good spot on the trail to paint the little plein airs you saw. Have only been back once, after we moved to our present house. When there’s a fire there, it is scary!
Your low light Utah photos were truly amazing! Cheers, Jesh

  24. scotiaspinner says:

We have a lot of pine trees here too. They are mixed with spruce as well. We occasionally have forest fires, but not very often. It rains a lot here, most of the time, or snows, so it is fortunate for us that we don’t typically have to worry about that problem. So devastating for the land, the people, the animals….it makes me sad.
