ALL SEASONS – END OF JUNE

                                                       Hello Seasons Bloggers,

LINK OPEN Sun June 25- Wednesday June 28, 7 pm,  Pacific time
The link did not work untill Sunday around 9:15 pm (Sunday), because the owner of the LInky list fixed it – many thanks to him.

Have visited the ones who  commented they couldn’t see the link. If you for some reason you come back to this post, you are still welcome to link.  In this whole thing my  appreciation for your  interest and love for this meme/challenge has increased.
We’ll resume next week  Sunday July 2, like before:)

Thanks you so much for all your beautiful posts LAST WEEK that speak of your passion for your season and the experiences you are having. Also love that you are visiting each other’s blogs!

Am barely alive enough to know (joking!!) it is because the 100 degrees has been pressing on my brain long enough that it probably melted some neuro connections!

When it is so hot (even a 100 degr. at our 3000 feel level) Balboa Park I  large `2,00 acre park with a relaxing pace. Big enough to  comfortably fit several amenities.. It was already a park in 1835, named after the explorer Vasco Nunez de Balboa. In the Mexican-American war the neighbors South of the borders were forced to include San Diego to the USA. This explains that most of the buildings were built in a beautiful opulant Spanish style.

It is one of the oldest parks and has a variety of art museums, food, plant associations and botanical building, artistry corner, science  museum, an big open air space for concerts – in short, the works!

NEW here? Press on CLICK to see the rules of the game:)

All the images in this post were taken in Balboa park.  A large variety of orchids in the botanical building. Waiting for this little treasure to be opened

Lovely construction of the ceiling throughout the year. The bow on the bottom is not the end, but extends to the side.

Seen from the outside, is the same as the image above, and the wooden ceiling extends the right side. On this bridge in front there are often one of two(good)  musicians playing.  You see the last of  at least 8 lilly pads in this big pond in front.

A fig tree, also in the botanical building.

Curious what are you doing on days when it is too hot to move?

Oh, I wish I was with you Jesh! Though the heat would be a challenge.
Here is my seasonal shot for you – from a classic June event, Royal Ascot

Balboa Park is certainly beautiful. I especially like the photos of the dome and the reflection. Linky wasn’t working yet but will try to get back later with a story about how my attempt to get out of the hot sun led to an interesting experience. .

  6. Carol says:

I’ve never been to the park but it’s lovely. Wow 100 degrees – you must be melting.

  7. Mascha says:

Looks like a great place! We have had “only” 95° here (I always must google, what is °f, we have °C), best climate is in the forest…

You got some great macro shots this week. I got a new lens called a pancake lens but not a macro, I think that’s next. The heat really wore me out for the last two weeks and then this week it turned and people are actually complaining it’s cold. Not me and I welcome it all year round. I hope you’ve cooled off.

  9. jMo says:

Has anyone been able to link up?

Thanks for your efforts with the linky (since I have an own meme, I well know these problems and I’m finally gone to http://www.inlinkz.com/new/) – just it is working 🙂

I loved visiting Balboa Park when we were in your neck of the woods, Jesh. Your photos are lovely.
    Thanks for hosting.

  14. PS: When too hot to move or work, I like going to our public library where it’s always cool in warm weather. Nice place to hang out in in any case, but especially so on hot days when one can read, write, work in comfort.

  21. I love these photos of the botanical gardens. I live in San Diego — and I need to visit Balboa Park. It’s been awhile!

  22. jesh stg says:

Yes, I remember you’re from San Diego – lived in Costa Mesa for some years, and S.D. was our favorite place to hang out in the weekend!
I know that phenomenon – when we lived at the beach, we never went, because when the weather was nice, there were crowds of people.
