May have told part of this story before.
On the balcony of Uyt ten Bosch is a door. At one time our bedroom door.
Moving here was an emergency situation.
Our second one was in two weeks to be born, and were without a house.
“Uyt ten Bosch,” – the old fashioned Dutch spelling for “Out in the Woods” – the owner had inherited from her mother or grand mother, who had been the cook of a baroness. The latter gave it to her, after she became too old to work. We figure, this house of the nobility was built in the 1920ties or earlier.
To finish our side of the story. The owner still lived in the West of the country, and needed to sell their house first. All house matters go much slower in Europe than in the States. We lived here for one and a half years.

This forest lane covered by the shade of these trees. Most often with
some mist lingering. The COMFORT of trees surrounding
after a life too busy and carrying too many hats,
in the anonymity of the forest.

A Door also thought to be a comfort, but definitely an American building style. Wood and siding is not what one often sees in W- Europe.
The sign says the Baptist Catholic Church – that one would also not be seen in Europe.

While living in the house above, our neighbor had chickens, ducks or geese, and turkeys. Our second one who was born there, was very investigative as a toddler. She let out all the neighbor’s chickens out of the pen!
My neighbor was dumbfounded when my toddler was laughing when she reprimanded her. Horrified back then as a young mother, but now this “child” has MANY chickens of her own and has a 6 feet high fence around the pen, telling her oldest to securely lock the pen. Funny, how history repeats itself.

Not to get too contemplative and serious, Makro-Tex (LOOKING UP) gives me the perfect reason to lighten the mood to fun and relaxation:) This Ferris wheel is stationary feature at a shopping area in Irvine, CA
In Holland there are often strong winds. Fascinating to see high winds transform the clouds

Lovely post Jesh. I enjoyed the story about the house. And the tree shot is comforting for me too – a bit like being wrapped up. Thanks for linking that to the one word challenge.
You’re welcome Deb – am most often up for a new challenge:)
Love that image of the road with the trees. Always a favorite scene for me. After the past few days here with tornado watches & warnings…I’ve had my fill of strong winds 😉
So many gorgeous nature scenes!!
Loved the tree lined lane, and your stories about your house in the woods, and your daughter’s history with chickens. 🙂
Beautiful area and I do love trees.

What a charming locale.

My past seems more colorful than my present, lol.
You probably know where Lunteren is?
I really, really enjoyed this post…loved the tale about the chickens, and I do love that photograph most of all. I just love pics of chickens, and roosters
Re Roger…We saw the doctor right after he had those bad days and she had me increase his antidepressant and it has really helped him. He had a touch of it that terrible fear the other night but nothing like those 3 or 4 days where he got no relief from it.
I have a touch of fear most days at some time or other, but most times nothing compared to that. I am hoping when we have more pleasant weather and can get out and do stuff that we will both feel a lot better. Cloudy weather has always bothered me, so guess it is to be expected I would have more fears about him then.
Beautiful photos all of them, but I love most the road among those fabulous big lush trees! Thank you for linking at Floral Bliss – have a nice day.
What a beautiful place to bring a baby home to, Jesh. You must have found it so peaceful there. I had to laugh at your toddler letting out the hens and now being so protective of her own.
What a cute little church – it has a very New England look about it.
Yep, she knows where kids are capable of:):)
Thank you Norm, I was surprised to find this in a suburb of Sacramento. I did smile about the sign Catholic and Baptist (at the same time, it sounded like).
Hello, the view of the road and forest is beautiful. I love the flowers, church and pretty reflection. Happy Thursday!, enjoy your day and the weekend ahead!
Good sky.
That house seems like the perfect solace in today’s busy world. I’m sure you have many great memories there. That is a funny story about the chickens and history repeating itself. 🙂 I hope that you are having wonderful spring weather!
Great photos, and I love the story about the chickens 🙂
A beautiful little church. It is funny (and interesting) how history repeats itself!!
Tons of great stories in here! The one about the house is a good one. Funny to think about the places we end up (all unplanned). I grew up around chicken too. Too bad I cannot have some now. #TPThursday
The story of your daughter made me laugh. What goes around, comes around, I guess. Funny how children can change as they get older. 🙂

What a great story! I love the tree lined street! beautiful!
Ha ha – love the story about the chickens. I used to keep chickens and they are very amusing. They love to be let out of their enclosure too so they would have loved your daughter.
Lovely photos. A Baptist Catholic church wouldn’t be a thing here! Either or, but not together. Thanks for linking up today and I hope to see you back again next week. Have a great weekend!
Great post! A very interesting story about the house and I’ve never heard of a Baptist Catholic church. I love the reflection!
Lovely story about the house and the chickens. I find being surrounded by nature comforting too.
Hello, it is a funny story about the chickens. I would not want to have to chase after them. Wonderful photos. Thank you for linking up and sharing your post. Happy Saturday, have a great weekend!
Hi Jesh-
Your photos exude with love.
Great banner and I love all of your photos.
Lovely post!
Have a Happy Day!!
Peace 🙂
Your pictures and the story are lovely. Thank you for telling us it. Very nice post !
I love stories Jesh so I enjoyed this post and had to smile about the chickens…Michelle
Nice shots – thanks for sharing 🙂
Beautiful series of images. Love the stories of your home. I have to say that “Baptist Catholic” is a bit baffling to me. The daffodils are my favorite flower! Thanks for sharing them. Thanks so much for joining Friday’s Hunt. Hope your week is going well!
Lovely nature views! Pretty chickens, they are quite popular these days.
That’s the truth – I can’t remember a single one of my parents’ or from my friends had chickens! Only the farmers had them:)
Beautiful photos 🙂
